"Punctuality is a virtue of the bored" - Evelyn Waugh

The quote is somewhat relevant to my absence on the blog for the last month or so, apologies for the inconsistency but I've been super busy and managed to take a lovely couple of weeks away with my other half. There's lots to catch up on and most importantly introductions to be made to my new pieces!

This post is all about one of the most iconic pair of shoes (in my opinion) right now. Designed by our own fabulously British designer Stella McCartney. FYI, if the shoes I'm talking about didn't instantly come to mind then you clearly need to be introduced (please see final image for reference).

Albeit, incredibly designed, fashion forward and available in an array of colours and textures, the price tag has unfortunately put a hold on the love affair between the Elyse and I. Retailing at a hefty £575-£625 it's not a purchase to be made by the faint hearted or in my case, student budget.
However, as always, where there's a will, there's a way. And I certainly found a cheaper way.

These amazing Stella inspired flatforms are from River Island! Would you believe it?!
Working there is definitely a perk of mine as I wouldn't have thought to go into River Island for something like these and for £530 cheaper. This is one of my favourite finds to date and I hope you'll agree that they look just as effective as the high end version.

Onto the look, I wanted this oversized playsuit as soon as I saw it on the River Island SS16 campaign imagery. It's exactly my style, the fit and fabric make it look luxurious, a far cry from the £15 sale price I paid. I love the huge pockets and the low V neckline. They create the perfect amount of detail along with the tie back and fitted sleeves.  I kept the colours clean and simple to keep the attention on the shoes. However, I do think you could go the complete opposite and wear an all over print and they will look just as effective, but it's all down to your personal preference. For me, print is something I explore very very tamely.
In keeping with my minimalistic feel, I accessorised with my white textured cutch bag, simple silver jewellery and clear/mirrored sunnies so not to detract from the outfit itself. This look is so versatile, you could wear it from day-to-night with ease. Add, a bright coloured lip or smokey eye with a leather jacket and you can instantly up the 'dressiness'.
