LIFEJACKET

OKAY, MAYBE IT WON'T SAVE YOUR LIFE BUT IT WILL SAVE YOU SOME CASH AND THAT'S BASICALLY THE SAME THING RIGHT?

Money saving trends are a student's best friend and the jacket up-cycle trend does not disappoint
here's my new fave way to spruce up my wardrobe for summer without breaking the bank.

getting your shoulders out is the ultimate way to mark the start of summer, but living in Britain makes me reluctant to start buying a tonne of clothes that will:
 a) be inappropriate to wear when we have gloomy, rainy days
b) end up half price in the summer sale by the time I'm taking it away on holiday

So i've found a solution for the days I want something summery without splashing the cash and revamped some of my favourite jackets to wear on their own.
Most jackets simply need the arms used as a waist belt or buttons undone lower to rework for this trend.
My kimono style jersey jacket needed a small safety pin to avoid any unwanted cleavage but I'm sure we've all got one lurking somewhere at home.

I kept the look all black as the weather wasn't quite warm enough this day to go OTT summer ready but I had my beloved block heel sandals on as a subtle nod towards the seasonal transition.

I hope you liked the look and it inspired you to update your wardrobe for free!
